Background
The Taito X-55 X Data Net Station is a karaoke machine created by Taito. It connected to an online service which allowed users to download songs and games. These servers shut down in 2009 which means the system is mostly inoperable nowadays.
Features
The hardware inside the Taito X-55 is based on their F3 arcade board, and the games released to the console were ports of arcade games released for the F3. Aside from the games, the system could also download songs from the internet through the use of the phone line on the back. These songs and games were saved in RAM and had to be redownloaded each time the X-55 was powered off. Because of this, most of the games have been lost and still have yet to surface
